Glassblower-track for teaching classes

We are seeking a skilled and creative Glass Blower to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of glass manipulation techniques and have a passion for creating high-quality glass products. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a dynamic environment. Our goal is a glassblower who can work as a production artist and a glassblowing class instructor.

Duties

  • Shape and mold glass using traditional glassblowing techniques to create artistic and functional pieces.
  • Work in the glassblowing workshop during the during the day with flexibility for afternoon shifts.
  • On a track toward teaching glassblowing, fused glass, and/or flameworking classes to the public.
  • Operate and maintain glassblowing equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products, ensuring they meet company standards for aesthetics and functionality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the basic glassblowing techniques.
  • Previous experience using glass or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Ability to learn quickly and with fast paced line work practices.
  • Understanding of the physical demand of a hot workshop with metal tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Responsible individual with strong time management skills.
  • Work with molten glass.

We will provide training and the time to develop skills necessary to make production, teach classes. Join us in crafting beautiful glass pieces that inspire creativity and innovation!

  • Part Time/Full Time positions available with Monday-Saturday day and evening flexibility.
  • Typical shift Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday 8-3.
  • Classes typically on Friday evenings and/or Saturday mornings
